7:30pm 5/11 session Today we talked about why we want to learn English. Answers included wanting to go overseas to talk to local communities. We also talked about our favourite food, hobbies and the differences between Australian and Japanese culture (there are many differences!). Our favourite hobbies include hiking, fishing and eating. We also talked about our jobs and what working hours are like in Japan and Australia. What are your hobbies? Where do you recommend to visit in Japan? Where do you recommend to go hiking in Hinase? What do you think the differences between Australian and Japanese cultures are? Words we learnt today: Tiring (Tsukareru): “Looking after my kids is very tiring” Landmark (Randomāku): “A famous landmark in Japan is Tokyo train station” Vandalism (Hakai kōi): Japanese people do not like vandalism Peaceful (Heiwana): Going to a garden is very peaceful Diverse (Tayōna): There is a diverse range of food in Melbourne Miss (O jō): I do not miss my brother Afford (Afōdo): If I have a lot of money I can afford nice things Accomodation (Shukuhaku shisetsu): I am staying at a really nice accomodation tonight Bunk beds (Nidanbeddo): When I was younger I slept in bunk beds Big occasion (Ōkina kikai): In Australia, we celebrate big occasions with parties Intimate (Shinmitsuna): What do you want to learn?
