給食に冷凍みかん。って私にとっては当たり前なんだけど。ミカンを丸ごと凍らせるって、、!?って皆びっくりするわ。ー外国人。しかも給食って、国によっていろいろですもんね。
そんな、ちょっとした冷凍みかんが異文化で会話盛り上がった事がある。13.11 7:30pm session

7/11 10am Sessions Today we started off by playing an ESL online game. We also learnt some difficult words such as ‘presentation’ and ‘commerce’. We also put tried putting these new words we have learnt into sentences.  We talked about famous landmarks in Japan, favourite food and what we did at high school or University. We also practised asking each other this basic phrase: ‘‘What is your favourite ____’. For example we asked ‘what is your favourite food’. New words and phrases we learnt today: - ‘Presentation’: Please listen to my presentation - ‘Landmark’: Mt Fuji is a very famous Japanese landmark - ‘Diverse’: There are many diverse food in Melbourne - ‘Middle child’: I have an older brother and younger sister so I am a middle child - ‘Scenic’: This view is very beautiful and scenic - ‘Commerce’: We studied commerce at University - ‘Fluent’: My japanese is fluent - ‘Help”: Please help me with the cooking - ‘Confused’: It is difficult so I am confused - ‘Earphones’: “I put on my earphones to listen to music” - ‘Quiet’: Child is sleeping so you need to be quiet - ‘Loud’: My voice is too loud When did you first eat Sashimi? I ate sashimi when I was very young Do you have any children? Where do your children live? At the end of year 12 in Melbourne we have a school formal where people dress up and celebrate. Do you have anything like this in Japan. We wear Yukata in Summer because it is cool and casual Where do you live? My house is near the mountain My house is near the sea so it is cooler in the Summer What did you study at University? I studied English at University I studied to become a Nursery teachers Did you enjoy University? No, there was a lot of studying The word ‘pool’ has two meanings. Pool means swimming pool or billiards pool.
