Are you Vegetarian?

カナダから日本にきて、びっくりした事の一つに、＜I am Vegetarian>っていうととても驚く人が多い事だって。確かに内に来る外国人のうち、半分はベジタリアンだったって言ってもよいほど、食べ物にこだわり？？っていうか強い人が多い勝手な印象なんだけどね。

アレルギーの人だっていると思うのだけど、宗教的なちがいや、国の背景であまり魚介類たべないで育ったひともいるし。以下。どこまでしってた？？

●vegetarian: No meat, poultry, seafood, or meat products 

ベジタリアン（肉、魚、鳥など食べない！）

●Vegan: No meats or eggs plus no milk, dairy foods (such as cheese, yogurt and ice cream),はちみつも無し。

ヴィーガン　↑に加えて乳製品、はちみつも無し。 

＊Beegan: vegan, with honey included in diet.

ビーガン　↑にくらべてはちみつはOK.

＊Pescatarian: the only meat eaten is fish; they still consume eggs and dairy.

ペスカタリアン肉はたべないけど魚はたべる。

＊Flexitarian: eat mostly plant foods, but include small amounts of meat in the diet.

フレキシタリアン　まぁ菜食をおもにするけどフレキシブルに肉や魚もたべる。という造語。

Vegetarian - My mother is vegetarian

Vegan - My girlfriend does not eat eggs, she is vegan.

Dairy products - Milk is a dairy product.

First aid - When somebody is injured, I give them first aid.

Injured - My leg is injured

common - Common is not a common word

Health science - I studied health science at college

French colony - Canada used to be a french colony

Used to be - I used to be a great singer

Expand - The empire expands fast

Backcountry - We went camping in the backcountry

Protesting - she is protesting against prison conditions

Holiday - She went to Hawaii for a
